A look back at the last 30 years in the Danish Motorsport for Escobar racing and Lars Kragh.

It all started in 1986 with a Sunbeam Avenger 1300, and a "stone" was laid for Lars Kragh's start in the Danish motorsports "World".

Time has passed, team and Lars Kragh has won many races and championships through the years, it's become:
6 times winner of Yokohama championship in 2013, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 and 2 time Danish Rally champion in 1989 and 2006.

More cars came and disappeared again:

Sunbeam Avenger
Ford Escort Mk1
Renault 5 Alpine
Fiat Uno Turbo ie
Citroen Visa Chrono   (manufacturer car)
Citroen AX Sport Gr.N
Citroen AX Sport Gr A (partial manufacturer car)
Citroen AX Sport Gr H
Peugeot 106 Kit Car   (manufacturer car)
Opel Kadett Gsi   (partial manufacturer car)
Opel Corsa RML S1600   (manufacturer car)
Porsche GT3 Rally   (manufacturer car)
Toyota Corolla 1600 GT Twin Cam AE86

And now is the turn of Escobar's fine Toyota Corolla 1600 GT Twin Cam AE86, the car is sold and intended to Ireland to take part in the Irish Championship for Historic rallycars.

Lars Kragh will now go in "thinking box" and find the next "move" for Escobar racing.

On 25th of march 2006, it was exactly 10 years ago to Lars Kragh and the team behind Escobar racing lay down in front of the Danish Championship in Rally 2006.

The first round of the Danish Rally Championship, held in Germany Saturday, March 25, 2006.

Lars Kragh: As I recall, there was some nervousness in the team, keeps the material, there will be enough speed in the car, the tires right in relation to the weather.

But all this, however, was dashed after 9 special stages totaling 117 km and a total of 241 km later, could Escobar racing stand at the top of the podium in Germany.

There were fought wild duels on the special stages the seconds went back and forth and the number of competitors dropped off for various reasons.

In Group H (older tuned cars) came Escobar-racing, Lars Kragh and Jess Larsen first over the line in their class, it handed while an impressive position as no. 10 in general, a field of over 100 cars to start in German.

Lars Kragh and Jess Larsen was really fast and a good start in 2006, with their Opel Kadett GSi, in front of several very fast cars such as the Ford Sierra Cosworth, BMW M3, Mercedes 190 16v Cosworth, and of course many classic as Ford Escort, Opel Manta, Opel Ascona...

In 2006, Escobar racing just eight months later call himself Danish champions in Rally, 2006, the last Danish round of the rally on Moen on 11th of november 2006.

A super beautiful day on Moen to everyone in Escobar racing.

Another Porsche GT3 FIA R-GT is ready.

It is now the second Porsche GT3 in the World which has been approved by the FIA homologated and the R-GT class, and will participate in the upcoming WC RALLY DEUTSCHLAND.

The first Porsche GT3 receiving homlogerings no. FIA R GT001 was Mac Duez from Belgium who took part in the year's first World Championship round in Monte Carlo.

FIA has long had a desire to Sports Cars must be run rally and all the way back in 2009 we saw the first regulations for the R-GT cars, which arose from the N-GT. Procedure.

In Germany, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Austria, the local ASN (Motor Organizations) already back in 2002 made these countries a local "Fureture Wold Rally" Procedure which took the starting point in the N-GT cars, such as Nissan 350Z, Porsche 911, BMW GT M-power, Lotus, etc..

The idea behind this action by the FIA, is to have some fun cars to look for a rally, and they are much more affordable to buy and keep

maintenance to relate to WRC / Super 2000 and the Maxi Kit Car cars. FIA has done a fantastic job for a breath of fresh air in rallies around the world.

Next car is Escobar racing's Porsche GT3 from Denmark, which certainly get homologation number: FIA R GT003. Escobar racing is just about ready, and expect to have FIA approval ready for 1 ½ months.

So we also know that Jorgen Hansen from Denmark, which has the same car as Richard Tuthill from Team Tuthill Porsche in the UK, also has started to make a FIA PASSPORT,I wonder Jorgen will get no: FIA R-GT004? or will there be more to before! Teams in countries such as Holland, Germany is also coming with FIA R-GT Cars.

Super day in Sweden for Escobar Racing Denmark.

Escobar racing has made a long "winter" vacation at 6 months so now it was time to show our Porsche GT3 RS in rally trim.

Last year won Escobar racing Yokohama Championship in the big class, and now Escobar racing see if they could find a race in the top class, and preferably abroad, Escobar racing has not run rally in Sweden before, but have heard many good things about a rally sprint: Small Mats explanation as to why, over has been raced 50 times, and this would be race No. 51

We could not wait for the next, and it was also a really good experience in the Swedish.

With over 130 cars registered and 30 cars in our class, we were curious as to how far we could get on "the list" in the race. There were several WRC cars for this race, including a Mini WRC car from Norway, part Swedish participate in the Ford Focus WRC, Ford Fiesta R5, Subaru Impreza WRC, Subaru Impreza Group N, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 Group N. Moreover Peugeot 306 Maxi, as well as several lightning fast BMW M3 Group A. cars, and all these super cars sitting there some real fast and talented rally driver from Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Our target phrase from home, was to get in the
top 10

Lars Kragh: I had not seen or driven this rally sprint before, but when I saw how difficult technical the raceway was, I could see that our target phrase, to get in the Top 10, would not be easy.

Jess Larsen: We got a little slow start and were 13 overall in the race after first driving, we put new tires on the back wheels and made a small adjustment to the car's chassis to slightly softer suspension, it was not helped by the fact we were after heat 2 still No. 13 overall. Now it was full throttle and we took a chance and made the car body very hard and we should probably have done from the start, we were now No. 10 overall and No. 4 in our class, which was also our end result. Thanks to our service team.

We just hoped the car brings us home ...

On Sunday morning, met the team because we had signed up to the first round of the Yokohama championship East.

We had just gotten assembled engine and would therefore not aspire to great expectations but was curious about the engine and gearbox kept to the true race when everything was new and had not been running race.

There was driven up to the starting flag ... 5 4 3 2 1 ... and the start went out on the field in Rønnede.

Lars Kragh, "We gave it gas and it went really quite well, engine pulled well even though we had gone back to a standard GT3 RS engine option. We did not feel we had run quite optimal but when we crossed the finish line, we looked at rallyresult.dk where all ages coming in from all involved, we conducted. "

In addition to the 2 heats and here it went a little better but, the strong field we were up against, also ran stronger. In goal we were still at the top, so that the material relative to the hard load as it was exposed.

Lunch and the course was reversed. Third heat and 5 laps in the heat.

Co-driver Jess Larsen: "There were now taken into our lead, and Porsche did too much show driving. Therefore we decided to put new rear tire in the last 5 lap in heat 4, the concerns about the engine and transmission could hold, was proved wrong, now would we Fighte".

In heat 4 of the last 5 laps ran Jørgen Hansen fastest in his Porsche 911 (997) and although Steen Andersen, Mitsubishi Lancer and Kenneth Madsen Suzuki Swift Maxi 2000 ran faster, it was not enough. Escobar racing's Porsche 911 GT3 RS with Lars Kragh and Jess Larsen won Group 1 and in general in the past 16:51.304 with Steen Andersen 2 place in time 16:52.017 and Kenneth Madsen as 3rd in time 16:55.590.

Thanks for a great event and thanks for some great fights on the pitch in Rønnede

Danish motorsport nucleus consists of a number of private enthusiasts who use their own savings and then some in their sport. Momento has spoken with one of these, Lars Kragh, having run rally in 25 years at top level. Lars Kragh says: "I'm almost grown up in a garage with petrol in their blood. As soon as I had been driving, I started driving rally. Only in smaller and less expensive cars. Since in faster and more expensive cars. And rally sport animals. To be on

the top level. Going beyond the purchase of car use several hundred thousand dollars a year for operation and maintenance. If you are unlucky and get major damage to the car, that amount could easily be much larger. I've always funded my racing career private, so I've spent all my spare money. Later, when there began to come off in his career, I got some good partners and sponsors. "Lars Kragh continued:" There is not as racetracks cash prizes, so it is only if you come into the world elite, where the races are broadcast on television that there may be large revenues. I have an ordinary job on the side. My race team is privately owned and the car I bought and paid for with my own money. My mechanics and other team members are volunteers who work for free. We modes typically every Monday for a "screw-night" where we eat together and then screw on the car for some hours. When we're racing they use an entire weekend on it - without getting share than a good experience. "

FOR THE SAKE OF GOOD CASE
It is the second time Lars Kragh participating in Red Cross event with his Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Lars explains further: "The participants put up their cars for free. Many of them come from afar and must bear all costs. A few of the major automobile groups represented with several cars and will of course also mention in the press, but they do so in a good cause. For me and my team means a lot that we can help to raise money for a good purpose. But it's also an opportunity to display our team and the car ahead. It's in the ultimately important to our sponsors and partners. I drove approx. With 30 times Porsche with guests who paid 1200 Dkr. trip, but also drove a lot of trips in an Alfa Giulietta, where the price was 400 Dkr. trip. I did this so that as many as possible could come out to run and have an experience of running out of Vigerslev all with 210 km / h - perfectly legal. "

Lars Kragh says further: "There was a spectator, who stood in line for hours to get out to run with me, including a young girl who had waited for 3 hours to get out and run with Porsche.

If Thorkild Thyrring call next time, we definitely up. He is extremely good to use its network of current and former racers, and succeeded him to a unique field of cars and drivers, which I do not think anyone else would be able to. "Concludes Lars Kragh

Rallying

The Lotus International Rally team is set to make its race debut in April in the FIA European Rally Championship. In partnership with Italian team United Business, who won the title last year, the hotly anticipated Exige R-GT will be painted in Lotus’ iconic black and gold colour scheme.

Former Portuguese champion and Super 2000 World Rally Championship (SWRC) driver Bernardo Sousa is in-line to race the car at the Rally 1000 Miglia in Brescia, Italy, on 19-21 April, provided the car is ready. Next week the Exige R-GT undergoes its final testing before being submitted to the FIA for homologation. Ten cars will be built this year, with seven cars allocated to the official team and European racing drivers.

Claudio Berro, Director of Lotus Racing, started his career rallying and is thrilled to be back. “This will

be the first GT car to be homologated by the FIA. Lotus, of course, has been successful in rallying before, winning the 1981 World Rally Championship with the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. So in many ways we’re all going back to our roots. Partnering with the United Business Rally Team in the FIA European Rally Championship makes perfect sense because they, like us, know how to win. I think this is going to be a very strong collaboration. The championship largely takes place on tarmac, which suits us too. It’s so exciting to go rallying with this new project. It’s another big challenge for Lotus.”

Pier Liberali of United Business, commented: “This partnership agreement with Lotus Racing fills me with pride. Lotus is one of the most famous manufacturers worldwide in the motorsports field. It is an honour for us to be able to work with them, and we will do our utmost to exceed their expectations.”

It was not the way we had hoped to finish this season where we would otherwise have gone reasonably well. We have been in the top 10 at each of the departments of the Danish championship, we have participated in and it's tough cars in the field. In Yokohama East championship, we were 2nd in class and top 5 overall at the races.

Thanks to the race organizers for some good races they have made us part. Too bad we can not help the past, but the season is over for us. Now we want to spend the winter in the workshop and hope we are ready for the start of the season.

It's not so bad ...

When we look back a little this year, then Escobar racing and Porsche as actually performed well, We have run the 3 rounds of DRC, the first in Germany gave us a 9th place overall. By thr round at

Photo: Alex Rasmussen

Juelsminde it became an 8th place over all and by the recently held 4th round at Slagelse, it was again a 9th place over all. It's good cars and drivers in this field so there are many second duels and it makes it exciting for the spectators and the media to follow.

As we stood for Viking sprint in Frederikssund at Easter it was with an overall victory and we helped raise money for the association PTU.

When in Yokohama east championship after the two first rounds should be looking for a Porsche 911 GT3 is the second in the big class you will find it.

That is to say that Escobar racing and the white Porsche has not come into the finishline without a top 10 position and it's not so bad ...

Danish Championship finals with mixed feelings

Photo: f-service.dk

The finale of the Danish Championship of the rally on Saturday was held on roads around Slagelse, was in many ways a success for Escobar Racing, despite the fact that it unfortunately did not manage the team from Køge that when all the way to the end.
Finalists in Slagelse, it had been opened a class for GT cars, which meant that Escobar Racing for the first time since the team bought your Porsche 911 GT3, now supposed to be running into a round of the Danish Championship in rally.

Team Owner Lars Kragh and co-driver Jess Larsen had before the start of the race completed the

strategy that it is primarily applied to get the car back home in mint condition, but also to test it on different surfaces as Bygma Rally 2010 in Slagelse offered.

Lars Kragh: We had a really good day in Slagelse and got really tested our car in different circumstances than we are accustomed to. Throughout the day, Jess and I had good cooperation in the car and quickly found the rhythm.
Sample after sample improved our times and was number 11 overall, when we at last lap of the very last speed test had to throw in the towel. A broken drive shift meant unfortunately for us we had to pull us out of the race. Of course it is super honest to be deleted so close to the race end, but that's motor racing unfortunately sometimes
ends Lars Kragh.

The race was the last in the calendar Escobar Racing in 2010 and now the coming winter months used to examine the car have made it ready for season 2011.

Good start of the season for Escobar Racing.

Maundy Thursday was the year in motor sport's character as
1st Department of Yokohama championship east of the Great Belt was settled in Frederikssund.

Escobar Racing helped start and it was also the first race this year for Koge-fighters. Yes indeed it was the first real race at all for the team in the Porsche 911 GT3 that was purchased in late summer last year.

Nerves sat just outside on the clothes before the start was because it did not really had trained any further with the new car.
But as the day progressed, it became quickly clear to the team owner Lars Kragh that with rear-wheel drive might not be such a bad thing.

Nine cars were registered in the same class as Lars Kragh and second runs Jess Larsen, who had fought so hard for the seconds right from the first meters.

Throughout the day had Lars Kragh a very close match with Steen Andersen in Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7 and Johnny Pedersen of the BMW M3, which of course featured fast-paced race of great jubilation for the audience.

But the big surprise for the whole crew in Escobar Racing ended the day with a

class victory, which of course was greeted with a certain pride in the team.

Overall, the team had an excellent day in Frederikssund, although the weather gods had not fully thought out to make his debut easier for Lars Kragh and the new car.
